Love may make the world go ’round, but music keeps the journey tuned. If you combine the two, you create a marvelous music-themed wedding. Alas, like composing a musical score, both creativity and planning are required.
Identify Theme Mode
Do you want a theme based on location, preferred musical tastes, chronological age or musical era? Knowing your starting platform—your blank score sheet—puts everything else into proper prospective. Once you have your basic theme firmly identified, it’s time to start filling in the notes.
Continue the musical theme with clothing accents. Tasteful ties, cuff links, tie clasps, hair adornments and anklet or wrist bracelets can further a theme without overriding good taste.
Ladies, don’t forget the music-themed garter, and gentlemen, music-themed vests and cummerbunds for the best man, father-of-the-bride and others can continue the theme and still be fashionable.
Adjust the dress code for the party and allow guests a bit of creative flare. Keep within the general theme of music but tailor the dress code to match personal music preferences. Make it a costume party or a sock hop or retro era, such as a 20s, 30s, 40s, or 50s attire party.
Aside from the couple’s first dance, keep the music to theme if possible, of course.
Petite bells can mark seating arrangements. Just make sure they aren’t loud or unpleasant sounding. Engrave the initials of the bride and groom and the wedding date on them, and the bells can be transformed into wedding favors as well.
Label each table with a name portraying a type of music, a famous music hall or building, a band or a singer.
Replications of microphones, jukeboxes, CDs, and records ‘jazz’ up a room and stay in theme.
Musical note place card holders or music stand card holders can replace or complement the small bells while continuing the music theme of the wedding environment.
Musical note sprays that lay along vases add a surprising and unique elegance that is often overlooked.
